Coach
Lizzy Linsmayer
Lizzy began her circus journey in 2004 at the Colorado Academy Circus Summer Camp program in Denver, CO. Throughout high school and college she was a competitive gymnast and diver and also coached both sports outside of competition season. Upon graduating in 2014, she rediscovered her passion for circus arts and has been flying through the air ever since!
She is a graduate from Esh Circus Arts’ Professional Preparatory Program (Dec 2018), and specializes in Silks, Lyra, Tumbling, and Cyr. She also has passions for hula hooping and juggling, and if she is not performing in a show, you’ll probably catch a glimpse of her behind the scenes helping with rigging and technical needs. She loves sharing her passion for circus with anyone willing to listen, and one of her favorite parts about performing is experimenting with new makeup looks!
She is thrilled to be a part of the C3 team! When you don’t see her in the studio hanging upside down, you’ll likely find her slinging axes at her other job, scuba diving for lobsters, or out on the slopes chasing powder!
Teacher Bio
Lizzy’s classes tend to be fast-paced and challenging, but she always offers modifications and moments for rest. She focuses on safe spotting, exact technique, body form, and drops, but also loves teaching interesting entries to old tricks, and chaining skills. She loves discussing theory like why a wrap works the way it does, what holds you in the air at any given moment (and how we can change that), how to reverse engineer a wrap, and how what we learn in lower levels translates to good habits for harder skills as we progress. You can expect to be challenged both physically and mentally with theory puzzles, and probably have a laugh or two along the way!
