Studio Administrator & Community Relations, Coach
Lucia Cassan
Lucia’s early years were filled with sports, dance and swinging on the monkey bars. Ballet turned to belly dance, and belly dance turned to circus arts! Her love for circus began with rope and silks, but has since come to love other disciplines closer to the ground such as wire and partner acrobatics—okay maybe not that close to the ground. She pursued her passion for circus arts and spent her gap year becoming a professional circus artist through the Professional Preparatory Program at ESH Circus Arts in Sommervile, and overseas at FLIC Scuola di Circo in Italy. She has dedicated her time to teaching both youth and adults and is now a full time instructor and administrator at C3. Lucia is very passionate about enhancing youth development through movement and community and works for a non-profit social circus and our partner, Circus Up. She is excited to use her sociology and criminal justice degree to help circus arts become a vessel for social change. When Lucia is not teaching, you can find her performing for community circus events in Boston and cuddling with her dog on the couch while eating cinnamon buns.
Teacher Bio
Lucia believes in the importance of sequencing, it helps with endurance, memory, the connection between moves, strength—so many things! In her classes, you will spend each session working towards a sequence/mini-routine as something to show you all that you have learned. Throughout the weeks you will learn different theories and tricks and work on your form. Once we venture into the last few weeks of the session, you will begin to compile everything you have learned into a mini-routine or sequence, sometimes to music!
