Handbalancing

Let’s get upside down! Holding a free-standing handstand is a challenge, so in class you will build strength and body awareness through exercises and drills that will help you progress toward balancing on your hands. Experienced students will learn a variety of handstand shapes, crocodiles, and other inversions.

Important Info

Level Prerequisites for Handbalancing

Level 1

Open, no prereqs.

Level 2

Ability to kick up to a handstand against a wall and hold for at least 30 seconds.

Level 3

Ability to tuck jump and straddle jump to handstand and cartwheel out without a spot. Students should be comfortable attempting to balance in the middle of the room without a spotter, though they do not need to be able to hold balance consistently.
