Coach
Sofia Post
Sofia Post discovered circus arts at age 5 when Circus Smirkus came to their hometown, and she has been obsessed with it ever since. Sofia spent their summers training in Vermont at Circus Smirkus, developing an array of skills, but fell in love with fabric, trapeze, aerial hoop, and wire. Finding creative ways to learn and grow as an artist during the school year brought her back to Vermont to train at the New England Center for Circus Arts. There, they focused mainly on lyra and strengthened their overall skills and love for the circus. Since then, Sofia’s main focus has been vertical-based apparatuses, straps, partner acro, and hand balancing.
Sofia developed a passion for movement as creative expression, with guided play that requires creative problem-solving and controlled focus. Moving to the Boston area to study Exercise Science at Simmons University, Sofia had the opportunity to further their training at Esh and C3. Certified as a personal trainer in 2020, they discovered the various facets of teaching others to move their bodies in new ways. After finishing their Bachelor of Science in the spring of 2023 and completing the Professional Preparatory Program at Esh Circus Arts, Sofia is committed to developing as a full-time teaching movement artist.
